Bringing Jo’s Brand to Life: A Vibrant Kitchen Shoot with Time to Nourish

Brand photography for nutrition coaches: Bringing Jo’s Brand to Life. A Vibrant Kitchen Shoot with Time to Nourish

Setting the Scene

Photographing Jo from @timetonourish was a feast for all the senses. After patiently waiting for her stunning at-home kitchen extension to be completed, it was finally time to capture her passion in this bright, modern space—and it was absolutely worth the wait.

Jo runs dynamic cooking and nutrition workshops from her beautiful new kitchen, and our half-day brand shoot was designed to showcase the full spectrum of her work. The goal? To create a versatile collection of images that reflect Jo’s expertise, warmth, and the vibrant energy she brings to every session.

Jo’s Vision for the Shoot

Jo’s vision was simple yet powerful: she wanted realistic, friendly photographs that showcased her as an expert while capturing her workshop delegates having a great time. She wasn’t after overly staged images—she wanted authenticity, connection, and genuine moments that reflect the heart of her business.

Planning Every Detail

Brand photography for nutrition coaches
comes with a wide variation of options to photograph. Preparation was key. Jo and I had a Zoom planning call where we discussed every element—from clothing choices and presentation styles to what her clients should wear and the leaflets we’d feature on the tables. In addition to my usual photography equipment, I brought along photography backgrounds, knowing they’d come in handy for the food shots.

Capturing the Action

Our shoot covered a range of activities to tell Jo’s brand story:

👩‍🍳 A lively group cooking session, filled with hands-on prep and delicious taste tests.

🥑 Nutritional coaching with a client, highlighting Jo’s approachable and knowledgeable style.

👥 Food photography for her workshop marketing, showcasing colourful, wholesome dishes.

📸 A variety of portraits that captured Jo’s personality—professional, relatable, and full of life.

We really stripped down every stage of Jo’s client journey—from greeting and hosting the workshop to post-session activities, even down to cleaning in her purpose-built kitchen. After the workshop, we created beautiful portraits of Jo in her chef whites, followed by shots in a relaxed outfit for admin work, a workout session with her husband Rob, and a client meeting in another outfit.

The Vibe on the Day

The vibe?  So much fun! The room was filled with laughter, spontaneous taste tests, and the kind of easygoing energy that makes for the best candid shots. With six women in the room, the atmosphere was buzzing—a true reflection of Jo’s welcoming and positive approach.

Challenges and Creative Solutions

One unique challenge was ensuring the space worked perfectly for photography. Jo had waited over a year for her kitchen extension to be completed, and it was stunning—bright, spacious, and ideal for our shoot. We did have to remove a few unnecessary items, like dishcloths and branded kitchen products, to reduce visual clutter and keep the focus on Jo and her work.

What Stood Out

What stood out the most was Jo herself. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and non-judgemental—an absolute pleasure to photograph. She took direction with ease, making the session flow naturally, and her beautiful new kitchen provided the perfect fresh backdrop.

Maximising the Impact

Jo was thrilled with the final images. She put them to work immediately, incorporating them into everything from leaflets for her workshops to event handouts. To maximise her online presence, Jo collaborated with her VA, Karen from The Virtual Creative Company, who helped showcase the photos beautifully across her digital platforms.

A Shoot to Remember

What made this shoot unforgettable wasn’t just the vibrant food or the stunning kitchen—it was the energy in the room. The laughter, the shared stories, the spontaneous taste tests—all of it reflected the heart of Jo’s brand: nourishing both body and soul.
