Anxiety expert, hypnotherapist and author personal brand photo shoot with Marlow based Clare Cogan.
It was a pleasure to work with Clare from Creating Calm for the 3rd time! Clare is an anxiety expert, hypnotherapist and author based in Marlow. Clare was looking for a completely different look to her previous brand shoots; something bright, modern and approachable for her teen audience.
Planning the shoot
Planning this shoot was a bit different from Clare’s first two sessions, where the locations were clearly defined—her workspace and favourite coffee shop. For her third shoot, she wasn’t sure exactly where she wanted to be photographed, but she knew it had to resonate with her audience and have a vibrant, colourful feel.
After exploring a few options, we finally landed on the idea of a skate park bursting with bold, vibrant graffiti. I dove into researching locations and conducting site visits to make sure we found the perfect spot. One location I initially had in mind had recently been painted over in grey—imagine showing up on the day to that! That’s exactly why site recces are crucial for all our photo shoots.
Eventually, I found the one in Bracknell, just half an hour from Clare, and she was thrilled with it. We had the entire space to ourselves, giving us the freedom to experiment with different poses, embrace the moment, and just let Clare be her authentic, fun self. It paid off—the photos are absolutely stunning.
Using the images in business
Clare has seamlessly integrated her images across every aspect of her business, from online platforms to print marketing. While I’ve loved working with her on previous photo shoots, her third session was truly something special. It brought a fresh, modern, and vibrant energy that completely redefined the typical therapist brand shoot. A skate park setting paired with Adidas trainers isn’t the first thing that comes to mind—but it worked brilliantly, exceeding all expectations!
